The primary or target audience for the film is the young people of Canada, not just those of Chinese and Sikh descent, but all who are approaching adult life and need to have a better understanding of Canadian immigrant history and culture from an historical perspective. Thus, an important intended audience for Beyond the Gardens' Wall is the educational sector, specifically Secondary or High School: Grade 11 and 12, History, Geography and Civics classes, and university level History.
